Posted on: 24/May/2019 12:00:24 PM
The members of the political party, Naam Thamizhar are enthusiastic after the elections as the party has secured more votes as compared to the previous Legislative Assembly Elections conducted in 2016!

The party Naam Thamizhar was started in the year 2010. The popular film director Sreeman was the State-level coordinator and has been guiding the party. The party contested in all the 234 Legislative Assembly Constituencies for the first time in the year 2016. The party secured 1.1% of the votes polled.

In the recent parliamentary elections, this party secured a considerable number of votes and secured the 3rd place. The administrators of Naam Thamizhar party shared in this regard:

In the previous election, we contested with the locally nominated persons. However, during this election, we preferred to give priority to the educated cadre of contestants such as graduates postgraduates, and doctors. Further, 50% of seats were allotted to women. Apart from this, all the contestants were excellent orators! When the contestants and the party administrators took the campaign stage, they never failed to raise the issues of agriculture and environmental pollution.  All the above factors held a reasonable attraction among the public!  This has resulted in a considerable higher number of votes as compared to the previous elections. During the previous Legislative Assembly elections, Naam Thamizhar secured the 5th/6th places. However, this year, the public has given us the 3rrd place! This is a remarkable achievement indeed! We hope to have secured at least 5% of the votes.

  • As at 7.00 PM yesterday (Friday, 23rd May) on the counting, the Namm Thamizhar party contestant from Sivaganga parliamentary constituency V Sakthipriya has secured 60639 votes (6.76%).
  • The North Chennai contestant P. Kaliammal secured 53424 votes 6.38%.
  • Trichy constituency contestant V Vinodh secured 64979 votes 6.24%.
