Skymet estimates the extent of rainfall prospects of the southwest monsoon set to start 4th June

The private weather monitoring Centre Skymet has informed that the southwest monsoon rainy season will commence on 4th June 2019.
Usually, the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season in Kerala commences on 1st June. However, this year 2019, the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season is 3 days late and will commence on 4th June.
Skymet has informed that there are prospects of monsoon seasonal rains to start on 22nd May in Andaman Nicobar Islands.
The Managing Director of Skymet, Jatin Singh, has notified:
‘The southwest monsoon seasonal rainfall this year will be less than average expected level. With several analytical methods, it is gathered that the rainfall during this year’s southwest monsoon rainy season will be lesser than average.’
