Voters who cannot visit their native place for voting can vote near their residence

A facility has been arranged for the people who cannot visit their native places to cast their vote to go the nearest polling booth and vote there.
A special website, www.nvsp.in (national voters service portal), has been created for this purpose. Download the Form-5 from this website, fill up and vote. By this method, the voters who could not their native places for voting can now vote in the nearest booth to their residence. This would also prevent bogus voting.
Voter’s D number, called Epic No, is required for this. If married, the voter ID of wife, passport-size photograph (jpeg or jpg format only), birthday proof (Aadhar card, etc), and residence proof (jpeg or jpg) are to be submitted. Then, Ref. No. will be sent to the cell phone. Further, the filled application and the supporting documents will be scrutinized by the election officer and the permission will be given to vote in the polling booth nearest to the residence.
