New facility for train travellers - boarding place/station can be changed until 4 hours before departure

Indian Railways have come up with another new facility. According to this, the passengers who had reserved the ticket, a facility to change the boarding place up to 4 hours before the departure of the train.
This facility will be applicable to the passengers whad reserved their tickets through the Tatkal System. There are some occasions when the passengers due to some emergent personal reasons could not board he train as planned and this facility would be of immense use to them.
The passengers who have booked the ticket can call the number 139 until 4 hours before the departure of the train and inform about the station where he/she will be boarding the train.
In case the passenger could not board the train at the changed place informed, he/she can travel from the original booked boarding station without any charges. The seat/berth booked will not be allotted to anyone else.
The technologists have been clearly instructed to make the required changes in the website format to accommodate this new facility and ensure that this functions smoothly.
In the present system, the passenger who had reserved the ticket will have to inform any change in boarding the train only by either the IRCTC website or by a direct personal visit to the railway station.
