Established in the year 1929, TNPSC or Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, has been playing a major role in the recruitment of personnel into the state public service. It is now said that the private coaching centers for the competitive exams in Chennai city have complained that TNPSC has got answers for as many as 10 questions wrong. This has been as per the tentative answer key list that was released for the group-1 exams that concluded recently.

To fill as many as 181 posts in the government departments that included posts for deputy superintendent of police, deputy collector and registrar etc, more than 1.67 lakhs candidates wrote the preliminary exams on Sunday. It is important to note that the question paper for preliminary examinations contained 200 objective questions each carrying 1.5 marks with no negative markings.

On Monday, the tentative answer keys were released and the students were allowed to challenge the keys. A trainer who trains the candidates for the TNPSC exams claimed that wrong answers were given to 10 questions. It must be taken into account that the question number 117 showed that there are 27 tiger reserves in India but as per the data from Wildlife Institute of India it was confirmed that there are 50 tiger reserves in India.

The important information gathered is the answer key to question number 16 says Sabarmati River flows through MP, Gujarat, Rajasthan but this river doesn’t flow through MP at all. It was as per the data got from Water Resources Information System of India. The trainer for TNPSC exams then threw light on how all the 4 options given for question number 128 on Earth`s density were wrong.

He also spoke about question number 85 that had 4 statements and the candidates were asked to choose the correct one. He said that keys were not correct. The officials belonging to TNPSC were not available to speak on these wrong answer keys that were provided. Point to be noted is in the earlier group-2 exams, more than 2000 candidates challenged the answer keys that were released. Therefore the recent wrong answer keys provided is not an isolated one.
