PM to flag of Tejas Express

Tejas Express is a superfast day train that is to serve between Chennai and Madurai. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off this train on Friday, today.
As per statements in this regard, during the inaugural run, the train shall be functional between Madurai and Egmore. It will leave Madurai at 3 pm and arrive at Chennai at 9.15 pm. At Kanniyakumari, the PM is set to take part in the inauguration event for flagging off the train via video conferencing.
In the regular service of the train, it shall leave from Chennai at 6 am and arrive at Madurai by 12.30 pm. It will have stoppages in Tiruchi and Kodaikanal Road. between Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi of about 17.2km stretch, there will be a foundation stone laid at an expense of Rs 208 crore. And a bridge at Pamban Viaduct of length 2.05km will be constructed at an expense of Rs 250 crore.
The superfast train will have topnotch faciliites including electronic reservation charts, automatic cabin entrance doors and bio vacuum toilets.
