Local body elections date to be announced in May

The Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner Malik Feroz Khan informed yesterday (Wednesday, 30th January) that the dates for the Local body elections would be announced in the month of May.
A review meeting regarding the preparation tasks for organizing the Local body elections in the state of Tamil Nadu was conducted in Perambalur.
The Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner participated in this review meeting shared the information: The news regarding the dates for Local body elections in the state of Tamil Nadu will be announced in the month of May. After the completion of the Parliamentary (Lok Sabha) elections. The dates for the Local body elections in the state would be announced.
The various procedures such as direct elections where the voters elect their representatives, the indirect election where the public-elected members of the Local body administration elect the Deputy Leaders of the Local body administration, as well as other procedures will be completed before July.
So far, 22 review meetings have been organised in 22 districts throughout Tamil Nadu, Further, review meetings are set to be organised in 10 more districts.
