Chartered Accountancy Exam results released

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts the examinations of C. A. (Chartered Accountancy)) to become an auditor of accounts.
A new syllabus was introduced last November. However, the examinations were conducted as per the old syllabus as well. The results were released yesterday (Wednesday, 23rd January). 1.09 Lakhs candidates wrote the CA examinations as per the old syllabus.
Out of this, 13909 candidates (constituting 12.75%) have been successful to become Chartered Accountants.
15503 candidates wrote the CA Examination as per the new syllabus. Out of this, 1060 candidates (constituting 6.83%) were successful.
In the preliminary training examination conducted last November, 48702 candidates wrote and 44.12% have passed. In the general qualifying examination conducted during December, 25307 candidates wrote and 36.10% passed.
In the final CA examination, candidates from the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Chattisgarh have secured ranks at the national level. On the preliminary or intermediate examination, 3 candidates have secured 3rd rank. One of the 3 candidates is a graduate, Mruthanjayan from Salem, Tamil Nadu
