Now deadline fixed for Chennai city hostels to get registered

There are many hostels in the city of Chennai for children as well as for women and these hostels are not registered with the district collectorate is known. The news is 31st of December has been fixed as the deadline for the hostels in Chennai to get registered. The collector of Chennai, Mr. Shanmuga Sundaram, warned the owners of the unregistered hostels and said criminal action would be taken against them if they dont get their hostels registered before the above mentioned deadline.
It must not be forgotten that recently many people belonging to Chennai woke up with the news about a ladies hostel in Adambakkam. The owner of this hostel had fixed as many as 9 hidden cameras in many places inside the ladies hostel to film the women present in the hostel and later blackmail them. The warning by the collector of Chennai has bow come at this point of time. After the deadline gets over, members of the public could lodge a complaint regarding the discrepancies of the hostels. For this sake a WhatsApp number has been provided. It was said that the state government did not have any idea about the number of hostels in the city of Chennai.
The Chennai district collectorate has been directed by the social welfare department to enumerate the list of hostels in Chennai city but the Chennai city collectorate is yet to start the process of enumerating the list of hostels. One important piece of news is the owners of unregistered hostels could be sentenced up to 2 years of imprisonment. This was according to the collector of Chennai, Mr. Shanmuga Sundaram. As per the release it is clear that all the children and women hostels in Chennai should be registered with the district collector by 31st of December 2018.
The release also stated that after the December 31st deadline the complaint could be filed against the erring hostels by using WhatsApp number 9444841072. It is now revealed by the collector that just eight hostels have sent their applications to get registered with the district collector.
The collector later explained about the risks involved for children and women when they stayed in an unregistered hostel. He advised them not to stay in the unregistered hostels in Chennai city. The collector of Chennai finally revealed how the hidden camera detector mobile apps could be used to locate the presence of spy cameras in the hostels.
