In Chennai, many passengers travelled by feeder services in the month of November

Chennai Metro Rail Limited has been providing feeder services like share autos and share taxis for providing last mile connectivity to the commuters. It is now said that this feeder services have been utilised by more than 33,000 passengers in November 2018. As many as 27,562 passengers used share auto services and as many as 6304 passengers used share taxi services. At the selected metro stations in Chennai city, the commuters used share autos and share taxis
It must be taken into account that an analysis was carried out post reduction of fares to compare the before and after effects of fares revision. The comparison was between 1st of November 2018 to 11th of November 2018 (before the revision of fares) and from 12th of November to 30th of November 2018. Before the revision of fares a total of 10,274 passengers used the feeder services provided by CMRL. It is clear that as many as 8339 passengers used share autos services and as many as 1935 passengers used share taxis services to reach their places of destination. The important point here is after the revision of fares a total of 23,592 passengers have utilised feeder services. As many as 19,223 passengers used share autos services and 4369 passengers used share taxi services. This has been confirmed by the release.
