Easterly Wave to bring rains to Chennai (4&5th) and Tamil Nadu from Tonight till 6th December

A Easterly Wave (trough) is seen affecting TN coast from today. This is not due to any low pressure or cyclones. So dont believe the rumors which has been circulating. You can see the images how convergence happens close to the coast as the trough moves in (2nd photo).
Chennai and KTC

Rains can be expected in KTC belt from tonight / tomorrow morning and till 5th. So two days of rains for KTC belt.
Chennai City rain spells this season - Too many gaps in between.

Why we see less water in lakes
1st week of October - 110 mm in 3 days then 25 days Gap. October last week - 80 mm in 3 days then 20 days gap. November 4th Week - 140 mm in 2 days and now 15 days gap and now in December 4/5th we are expecting rains after 15 days. As you can see the breaks between spells are too huge and this wont help earth to be saturated and there wont be enough run-off in lakes.
For Today and 4th

Delta regions of Thiruvarur, Nagai, Nagapattinam, Karaikkal will start to get rains from evening will Chennai - Pondy to Cuddaore belt will join from night / early morning. It will be a coastal regions first and then the rains will spread into the state as moisture incursion takes place.
5th December

On day after tomorrow, it will be both coast and interiors.
on 6th December

It will be the western district such as Nilgiris and interiors which will have a blast. More on this later.
Hot spots / Heavy rains

The hot spots from this spell are Tiruvallur district, Nellore, Chittoor and south of Chennai in Kancheepuram district around ECR -Kancheepuram belt will get some very heavy rains. And Nilgiris on 5/6th might get heavy rains. Even south Tamil nadu such as Tirunelveli near ghats, Thoothukudi and kanyakumari will be places to watch on. (3rd photo).
Spinning thing - too early - please dont spread rumors on it.

Dont read too much on the spinning thing shown in weather sites. Westerly trough is dipping in at same time. So dont spread rumors now itself without understanding how system interact with the mid-latitude system from north.
