Recently, the cyclone Gaja, formed over the Bay of Bengal created havoc and heavy damage in the delta districts of Tamil Nadu and then crossed over to the Arabian Sea.

Subsequently, the depression zone formed over the upper layers of the atmosphere above the Tamil Nadu region and the cyclonic format caused widespread rain in several places and heavy rain in a few places.

The rain has abated gradually and presently, dry weather prevails over the last 2 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that this will continue for another 2 days.

In this weather scenario, a cyclonic format is prevailing over the Bay of Siam located adjacent to Vietnam and Thailand, This is now spreading to the Andaman Sea.

As persistent winds blow towards the western direction, the above cyclonic format over the Andaman Sea may drift towards Tamil Nadu by 29th November (Thursday). This development is conducive to the intensification of the Northeast monsoon rainy season.
