Disha to aid customers on IRCTC website

IRCTC has got a new update called Disha. This is an AI-based assistant which will help in ticket booking by answering the most commonly or frequently raised questions that are often about booking procedures, seating, etc. Disha can be seen at the IRCTC screen’s right bottom corner.
Disha is a chatbot powered by a Bengaluru based startup called CoRover. This platform is built over artificial intelligence and machine learning. Soon, this Disha will also be made available on IRCTC Android app.
IRCTC Statement about Disha
According to the statement rolled out by IRCTC in this regard, it is said that Disha will be a supportive and intuitive chatbot that can answer almost all the common questions about IRCTC services.
Disha comes with a number of preset questions which users most commonly ask for. When there is no matching question, the user can manually type it afresh and hit ‘Enter’ upon which relevant preset queries will pop up. When there is no relevant question or information available, the user may give their feedback or opt to Down Vote.
Disha will not be able to exactly direct a user in case of targeted, personal and very detailed queries such as queries about train availability between 2 specific stations, PNR status, etc. However, Disha will be able to redirect the user to the respective page where users can get answers for the same.
To note, this Disha facility is already available on IRCTC website.
What’s new with IRCTC?
In September, IRCTC has ceased the facility of free insurance for passengers who have made online ticket booking. Previously, as a move to encourage online booking for customers and create better awareness about travel insurance, this system of 0free insurance was availed. While the insurance facility is still available, it is important to note that IRCTC no longer provides the insurance for free like before. Since September 1, the free insurance offering is stopped.
