Order to expedite delivery of LPG cooking gas cylinders

The oil corporations have emphasized to the Gas Agencies to expedite the delivery of new LPG cooking gas cylinders to the residences during this festive season. In Tamil Nadu, there are around 1.80 Crores customers for LPG cooking gas cylinders supplied by Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation.
The gas cylinders are delivered after booking through 1200 gas agencies for the above customers. As the festive season is currently in progress, the oil corporations have emphasized the gas agencies to expedite the delivery of cylinders. An official from an oil corporation explained in this regard that the cylinders are being delivered within 2 days after the booking. However, complaints have been received from the rural and village areas that it takes more than 3 days for the delivery. The agencies explained that most of the delays are due to rainy weather when there is difficulty in the delivery of the gas cylinder.
With the view that the delivery of cylinders must not be affected due to rain or floods, the additional stock of new cylinders is kept ready and sent to the agents. Due to the present festival season, the consumption of gas will be higher than usual. So, the agencies have been advised to deliver the new cylinders within 1 day after the booking is done.
In case of delayed delivery or the demand for extra payment, if the proper complaint is made, immediate action will be taken on the offending parties.
