Prospects of heavy rains in 5 districts in the state

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that as the southwest monsoon rainy season has intensified, there are strong prospects of heavy rain to very heavy rains in the next 24 hours in the 5 Tamil Nadu districts of Theni, Dindigul, Nilgiri, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli.
Due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects of rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai Metro City will remain cloudy. There are prospects of rain during the evening or the night sessions.
