Chennai has good chance of rains today as Veppa Salanam Rains to kick start in Tamil Nadu from today, while rains slow down in Cauvery Catchment, in the coming days the inflow into Mettur will slowly reduce to less than 50,000 cusecs and then even further day by day

With westerlies getting weak and suppression moving away, there are good chance for our Sea breeze to move in and create convergence. Yesterday Cuddalore belt got good rains with Neyveli recording 50 mm rainfall.

Yesterday temp was between 38-39 C, it was super hot considering July. In 2015 July, we had 8 days crossing 40 C. Its not that July means temp should be in 35 C. Hot days are common in July too. There is good chance of rain tonight in Chennai, after sea breeze moves in the evening and also in the late nights. This will be the pattern in the coming days. Kindly remember not all places will get rains. If your places misses today, tomorrow u will chances, these rains dont occur in wide area like the monsoon rains. These rains happen in small spells in here and there pockets.

All are hit or miss type. The KTC belt (Kanceepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai along with Cuddalore pondy belt will have chance.
