Madras HC orders CBSE to award grace marks to students who wrote NEET in Tamil

The Madurai branch of Chennai High Court has ordered CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education which conducts NEET) to award grace marks to all candidates who undertook tow write NEET in Tamil.
As there were 49 wrong questions asked in the Tamil paper. Of NEET, a petition was submitted to the Madurai High Court Branch. The MLA (Legislative assembly) T. K. Rangarajan (Marxist Communist Party) had submitted this petition under the public interest.
In the petition, it had been mentioned that 49 questions were wrongly given in the NEET Tamil question paper and hence all the candidates who undertook to write in Tamil must be given grace marks. Further, it was requested that orders should be used to give admissions to the medical courses on the basis of the +2 public examination marks.
The enquiry on the petition was conducted by the bench of judges C. T. Selvam and A. M. Basheer Ahmed. On behalf of CBSE, it was presented that NEET is conducted primarily to improve the standard of medical education as recommended by the Indian Medical Council.
In this situation, the enquiry has been completed and the verdict has been released today (Tuesday, 10th July). As per the verdict, the Madurai Branch High Court has ordered CBSE to award 196 grace marks to all the candidates who undertook to write NEET in Tamil. Further, it has ordered that the new merit/rank list must be released within 2 weeks.
