The official website of IRCTC has been updated and modified to include several new features including checking the possibility of the train ticket booked getting confirmed, ordering food, and booking call-taxis, etc.
Over 2.30 Crores passengers travel daily in the more than 13000 passenger and other trains being operated by the Indian Railways.
While booking the ticket online on the IRCTC website, it is possible to know the status of seat/berth availability, waiting list position. Etc.,
In this situation, IRCTC has updated and revised its official website based on the various suggestions and requests from the passengers.
IRCTC officials explained in this regard that over 13 Lakhs to 13 Lakhs customers use the IRCTC website daily. In this situation, this website has been updated and modified to include several new features. As per this, the status of the booked train ticket can be easily ascertained in this modified website.
While booking a ticket, in case of tickets are not available for the train being booked, it is possible to have a look at the position of tickets available in the other trains on the same route. So, one can book the ticket easily on the other train and travel.
The passengers can easily access the details regarding Wi-Fi facility in the railway Stations, Battery car, restrooms list, call-taxi booking facility, services through mobile phone Apps, the details of food items served on the train and their prices, the details of special trains run during the holidays, etc.,
Especially during the reservation of tickets, in case the ticket is on the waiting list or RC (Reservation against cancellation), the possibilities of getting a confirmed ticket can be easily ascertained.
