Rain to persist in Chennai metro city

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that as the low-pressure zone formed over the Bay of Bengal Region is likely to intensify to be depression zone, there are prospects of rain in a few places in the Northern Tamil Nadu coastal areas including Chennai Metro city.
As for today’s weather, Chennai and the northern coastal areas will remain cloudy. The low-pressure zone formed over the north Bay of Bengal region is likely to intensify today and become a depression zone today (7th June). So, there are prospects of medium rain in a few places in the northern districts including Chennai.
The Meteorological Centre also informed that there are prospects of rain in the evening/night due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
