Prime Minister reaches Chennai - Received by the governor and CM

DefExpo - a fair/exhibition of defence equipment is being organised at the location of Thiruvidanthai near Mahabalipuram. The exhibition commenced yesterday (Wednesday, 11th April). It is scheduled for 4 days and will close on 14th April.

Though it was commenced yesterday, the official inauguration of the event is scheduled today (Thursday, 12th April).

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will participate and inaugurate the DefExpo and visit the stalls.

Further, the prime minister is also scheduled to participate in the inauguration of the Diamond Jubilee commemoration building of the Adyar cancer centre.  The prime minister is also scheduled to have a session with the press reporters at IIT Chennai (Guindy).

The prime minister arrives in Chennai for the above occasions from Delhi today morning (12th April). He flew on a private aircraft at 6.40 AM and reached the Chennai old airport at 9.36 AM.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received at the airport by the Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, the Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, the central defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Pon Radhakrishnan.
