Northwest India

Until March 29, scattered light rains are likely to continue over Jammu and Kashmir with isolated spells over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Thereafter, the pleasant weather would prevail over the hills of North India along with a rise in temperatures.

The plains of North India like Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh would continue with a mainly sunny sky. Dry northwesterly winds at a moderate speed would prevail over the plains of North India. The temperatures would keep witnessing a rising trend until March 30 and would remain above normal. The day would become warmer but mornings would remain pleasant. The maximum temperature of Delhi may reach 37 degrees Celsius by March 29.

Central India

Most of the central region will maintain above normal temperatures as the dry weather would prevail over Central India. Vidarbha, Marathwada, Southeast and Southwest Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat may even record the maximums more than 40 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. Konkan & Goa may witness a drop in the daytime high in the next 24 hours and the temperatures may vary between 34-37 degrees Celsius.

Isolated parts of South Konkan & Goa may receive light rain and thunderstorm in the next 24 hours. On March 31 and April 1, isolated rain and thundershowers are expected over Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra.

East and Northeast India

Entire Northeast India including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may continue with scattered light rain and thundershowers. These rains are likely to intensify between March 29 and 31. During this time, isolated moderate rains with thundersquall may occur.

Isolated rain and thundershowers may occur in parts of Northeast Bihar and adjoining West Bengal on March 27 or 28. The activity would increase between March 30 and April 1. Moderate rain and thundershowers with squally winds and lightning strikes may affect parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and North Odisha on March 31 and April 1.

South India

Warm and humid weather would prevail over most parts of South India. Heatwave like conditions are expected at a few parts of Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema. Light rain and thundershowers are likely over Kerala, adjoining coastal Karnataka and parts of Tamil Nadu. This activity would increase by March 30. During these days, coastal Andhra Pradesh and remaining parts of Telangana may also receive light thundershower activities.
