Rushing to the ATM for new Rs 200 notes? Check this out

Are you looking forward to holding the newly rolled out Rs 200 and Rs 50 notes? Got plans to rush out to the ATM centres and experience the new note? If so, be prepared to get disappointed.
Making an effort to match the missing link between the very low and very high denomination currencies, the central bank has announced about the launch of Rs 200 notes. With the new launch, it will henceforth be possible for everyone to make easier currency exchange, particularly for those who deal with lower denominations often, says an RBI statement.
On August 18, the RBI had announced about the launch of new fluorescent blue Rs 50 bank notes that will have Hampi with Chariot motif on it depicting the rich Indian culture and heritage.
Anyway, these new Rs 200 and Rs 50 notes will only be made available in select RBI offices and banks. At the same time, Friday being holiday for Ganesh Chathurthi, banks remained shut down, and hence the new notes might not have reached the ATMs.
As the dimensions of these new Rs 200 notes will be different from those of existing notes, the ATM centre cassettes that dispense cash need to be calibrated. To note, the Rs 200 notes come with dimension 66 mm * 146 mm.
