Southwest monsoon: Average rain expected in 21 districts

The climate research centre of the Agriculture University has estimated that there would be average rainfall in 21 districts and less than average rainfall in 11 districts in the ensuing southwest monsoon season.
The southwest monsoon rainy season will be from June to September. The farmers may plan their schedules accordingly.
The report estimation has been prepared by using the heat intensity levels of the coastal land on the East Pacific Ocean near the equator during the months of March and April and the South Zone Wind Pressure Index and compiled by the Australian Weather Computer infrastructure, called Rain Man.
As per this estimate, it is expected that there would be average rains during the southwest monsoon rain season in 65% of the districts. To be exact, average rainfalls are expected in the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Nigiri, Coimbatore, Chennai, Erode, Cuddalore, Theni, Madurai, Dindigul, Kanchipuram, Kanyakumari, Perambalur, Pudhukkottai, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Vellore, Villupuram, and Sivagangai.
There would be less than average rainfall in the districts of Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Karur, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Trichy,Thiruvarur, and Ariyalur.
It has been estimated that the districts of Nilgiri, Kanyakumari, and Vellore will receive maximum rainfall and the districts of Thiruvarur and Karur will receive the minimum rainfall.
Along with this estimate, it is also advised that farmers can take up harvesting in the districts where average rainfall is expected by adopting the latest agricultural technology and in consultation with agriculture experts. In the areas estimated to have lesser rainfall, rain water harvesting may be taken up as per the requirement of irrigation water and harvesting can be done accordingly.
