Chennai Commemorative arch on assembly diamond jubilee celebrations

As part of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Tamil Nadu Assembly,Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa yesterday(09Oct,2012) announced that a commemorative arch would be constructed near Fort St.George,
The proposed arch will be 80 feet wide and 41 feet tall and come up on Rajaji Salai between the War Memorial and state Secretariat,
The arch would incorporate both traditional and modern construction techniques and will add to the `majestic` look of Fort St.George, which among others, houses the state Assembly and the Chief Minister`s office.
