Keep the banks open till 1st April, says RBI

All the banks will function on all days until 1st of April 2017. The RBI has requested all banks to be functional till then in order to facilitate various banking functions including tax collection, payment, government receipt, and so on. Further, select RBI offices will also remain open in these days.
In an RBI notification, it is mentioned that all Agency Banks that handle government business operations are told to function on all days till 1st April, facilitating government receipt and payment functions.
Furthermore, the regulator has mentioned that the corresponding Reserve Bank departments handling government businesses will also be functional.
