Survey Of India To Re-Measure Mount Everest Height

Survey of India has mentioned that action will be taken to re-measure the Everest height. Mount Everest stands at 29,028 feet above sea level. There is a doubt that whether there could be a change in the height of Mount Everest due to global changes. Some of the scientists doubt that there could be changes in the height of Mount Everest due to the frequent earthquakes in Nepal. Hence Survey of India which is functioning under the Central Government of India has decided to re-measure the height of Mount Everest.
Another reason for measuring is, it helps in scientific studies, plate movements.
