Girija Vaidhyanathan gets appointed as the new Chief Secretary of TN

Senior IAS officer Girija Vaidhyanatha becomes the next new Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. This move follows the suspension of former Chief Secretary, Rammohan Rao. The Tamil Nadu government has announced orders for the same today.
Girija has been positioned as the Additional Chief Secretary or Commissioner of Land Administration, and is now made the Chief Secretary to TN government, as per a Public Department ordered dated today, 22nd December.
She shall also hold full additional charges as Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for administrative Reforms both of which were held by Rao.
Girija is notably the senior most IAS official in Tamil Nadu. She is a credible and trusted officer, without getting caught in any scam. She is a Chennaite and a 1981 batch IAS official. Her office term will end after three years from now.
