Derelict Marina, theatres and other hangouts in Chennai

Hangouts in Chennai including Marina beach and movie theatres seem derelict following demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes that have left people deprived of money.
Recently, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced demonetization of all Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. This jeopardized the routine of people and left their pockets empty. The ATM centres had also not been functioning properly and hence people find it tough to meet even their daily needs. This has reflected with lesser visitors at hangouts in Chennai including Marina beach, theatres, etc.
People from various places visit the Marina Beach. Children, elders, youngsters and all others visit the beach every day throughout from morning till night. Those who visit the beach tend to have peanuts, chickpeas, tender coconut water, sugarcane, tea, coffee, and snacks at kiosks, fried fish, and lot more. However, in the past four days, the sales has badly dipped as the visitors is less which in turn is due to the trouble people are put into without having enough money. In general, on Sundays the beach will be flooded with visitors including families, young couples, etc. The dereliction is not just observed at Marina, but also at other places including parks, movie theatres, and other hangouts.
