We often hear such stories in the recent days. There are a number of reasons for heart attack. Here are the five most important reasons for heart attack as listed by the World Health Organization.

High blood pressure

Those with high blood pressure are prone to Atrosklirocis which means thickening of coronary artery that reaches the heart. Due to this, blood flow to the heart gets disturbed which will eventually cause heart attack.

Obesity

Obesity is a key reason for heart attack. Those who are overweight will easily become diabetic. When both these conditions arise, the coronary artery will thicken and result in heart attack. It is to be noted that children and youngsters who are fat get heart attack. Hence, those who are fat need to take immediate action and reduce their weight by exercise. They need to follow strict diet according to the doctor’s advice.

Cholesterol

When there is more cholesterol in the body, it will get deposited on blood vessels and block blood flow. This will stand as a reason for heart attack. Hence, it is imperative to keep your cholesterol under control.

Diabetes

There is high possibility of experiencing heart attack when an individual is diabetic. When sugar level is not under control, the percentage of sugar in blood will increase which in turn will damage blood vessels. Blood vessels will thicken and there will be blockage of blood flow causing heart attack. Those who have both diabetes and high blood pressure have got very high possibility of heart attack. Being alert and precautionary is thus indispensable.

Smoking

Chain smokers and those who live by the side of chain smokers get their lungs affected due to nicotine content and other chemicals present in cigarette. Nicotine gets deposited on the liver and resist its functioning. These will also get deposited on blood vessels just the way cholesterol does. This results in hindrance in blood flow to the heart thus causing heart attack. If you are a chain smoker, one day or the other you will be smoking the last cigarette that will cost your life. Hence, stop smoking right away.

Take precautionary measures and stay safe. It is after all your good health that can keep you happy in life.
