Ramzan Fasting begins

Today marks to be the first day of Ramzan fasting across the world. This fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. Special prayers were held in mosques owing to this annual observance. Islamic believe that Islam is not merely a religion, rather a lifestyle. This involves five primary responsibilities. 

The first one is called Kalima which means it is the policy of the lord. They consider the Allah as the only lord. The second one is that Islamic ought to worship Allah for five times in a day. The third one is the thirty day fasting in Ramzan month. The fourth is called Scath which is to extend helping hand to the poor. 

Nearly 2.5 percent of the annual income of any Islamic income needs to be donated to the poor. The last one is Islamic pilgrimage called Hajj. Those who are diseased or sick due to illness, and those who are well-to-do, irrespective of gender need to make it to Hajj once in a lifetime. This is made mandatory in their life.
 
According to the Islamic calendar, Ramzan falls to be the eight month of the year. It was during this month that the Quran was revealed. That is why Ramzan fasting is practiced in this month. Those who are cash-rich should also understand about hunger and starving. They should understand the experiences and difficulties faced by those who long for food. 

Hence, fasting is a mandatory practice in Islam. It is during this period that they give food offerings which is also mandatory. Doctors claim this fasting to be a good practice as it helps in reducing cholesterol in our body. Stay alone, stay awake and stay hungry – all these are to be followed in this month. This will make the heart pure and serene, they believe.
