A brief on the press release from Tamil Nadu Election Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Lakhani:
There are no prospects of bringing 144 (ban) in Tamil Nadu. If the contestant fails to send election expense details once in 3 days, he/she will be disqualified.
Postal votes will be received till 19th May, when the vote counting commences. For the voters to find who they voted for, 17 centres have been set up.2 EVMs are to be used in 50 constituencies.
A video conference is scheduled to be conducted with the election monitoring officials on 12th May.
The alcoholic liquor shops in the border areas of the neighbouring states have been asked to close.
