Chennai police arrests 60 under goondas act

Chennai city police have arrested 60 persons under the Goondas Act in the last 40 days.
On Saturday, seven persons involved in the murder of an auto driver in Velachery were arrested and sent to the Puzhal prison.
In the last 40 days, 14 persons were arrested for extortion, 15 for murder, 13 for chain snatching and 14 for burglary cases under the Goondas Act.
One person involved in prostitution and three others who sold pirated DVD cases have also been booked under the act. Tripathy said strict action will be taken against anti-social elements and law breakers in the city.
