Vodafone to use Cisco mobile technology to improve call quality

Vodafone India has announced that is has deployed the Self Optimising Network (SON) technology that was developed by Cisco. The technology is said to deliver a superior mobile experience. It will also improve voice call quality, while reducing dropped calls.
Speaking about this, the company said in an official statement, (We) expect Cisco SON (to) optimise (our) existing sites and streamline the process of adding new sites to its fast growing network. Vodafone India has already deployed SON over a third of its network. Deployment will continue until the entire network is SON-enabled.
Benefits from the network include improved voice call quality, reduced dropped calls, higher data speed, better accessibility, lower network congestion and lower operational cost.
