Chennai region tops in CBSE class XII exam

The Chennai region has topped the rest of the country in pass percentage in the Central Board of Secondary Education`s class 12 board exams this year. Releasing the Class XII results on Monday, CBSE said 91.32% of students who took the exam in the region had passed, well above the national average of 81.71%.
The pass percentage among girls in Tamil Nadu was again higher with 97.31 and among boys, it was 96.53 per cent.
In Tamil Nadu, out of 6,750 students who appeared for the exams, 6,537 students passed, 34 students failed and 21 students were absent for the exams.
