Vodafone CEO: Preparing for IPO of India unit, no timeline set!

World`s second-largest mobile operator by subscribers, Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L) is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO)of its India unit.
This was informed by the Chief Executive Vittorio Colao as reported in some local TV channels on Wednesday, 14th October.
Chief Executive Mr. Colao said he was positively inclined to an IPO. But he was yet to take a final call since market conditions were still volatile.
The proposal for IPO has been in the works for years now for the Indian Telecom Operator. However, no date had been announced.
Vodafone entered India in 2007 by acquiring Hutchison Whampoa`s mobile phone assets.
