Central Finance Ministry: Rs. 25000 Crores Deposit in Jandhan scheme accounts

Central government`s ministry of Finance has informed that the total amount deposited under the Jandhan scheme has exceeded Rs. 25000 Crores.
During the initial period when the scheme was introduced, the number of accounts without any balance was quite high. However, this has reduced gradually and currently, the number of accounts with nil balance is around 40% only.
The balance 60% accounts have money deposited in their accounts and the total of this deposit exceeds Rs. 25000 Crores.
In the press release from the ministry of Finance, this is mentioned as a milestone in Jandhan scheme.
