Tamil Nadu state Government Official announcement - B Ed course duration 2 years

As per the recommendations of the National teachers Education Council, the duration of the B Ed & M Ed courses has been extended to 2 years. From this academic year.
Though some states including Tamil Nadu had objected to implementation of this recommendation, the state government has now decided to extend the duration of these courses by 2 years.
The Head of the Lady Willingdon Education development Company and Admission secretary Mr. R. Bharathi had a session with reporters yesterday (Wednesday, 9th September).
As per the guidance of NCET (National Council for Teachers Education), Tamil Nadu government has decided to increase the duration of B Ed course to 2 years.
Hence students joining these courses in this academic year will have to study the course for 2 years.
Counselling for this course is scheduled on 28th September. 1st Day morning will be exclusively for differently-abled candidates. 1st day afternoon session will be exclusively for the heirs of ex-military personnel.
On 29th September, the counselling will be Mathematics Group candidates. 30th September will be for Chemistry group. 1st October is for Botany & Zoology groups.
3rd October will be for English & Tamil group. 5th October morning session will be for History, Geography, and Commerce groups. Afternoon session will be for Economics and Home Science Groups.
