Merit-list for engineering course counselling released by Anna University!

Anna University released the merit list for admission to engineering courses yesterday, Friday, 18th June. 23 students scored 200 out of 200 as ‘cut-off’ marks. One of them is a government high school student. 8 students have secured the admission to medical course as well!
The merit-list for counselling on admission to engineering courses offered by Anna University was released by the Secretary for Higher Education. 23 students have score cut off marks of 200 out of 200. The names of 15 students have been released.
Highlights:
- Vishnu, a student from Kumarapalayam, studied in a government high school. He has secured the 2nd place in the merit list and the 1st place among the backward community student group.
- Keerthibalan, a student from Sulur, Coimbatore, has secured the 1st place in the merit list.He is a student of Thirchengodu Vidya Vikas.
- Nishanth Rajan, Mukesh Kannan, Nivash, Saravanakumar, Pravinkumr, Monish Kumar, Mohan Kumar and Ram Ashawanth are 8 students who have the unique feat of getting selected for both medical & engineering courses counselling!
- Giridharan is a student of Erode Gurukulam and belongs to Vellathottam .
- Vigneswaran (from Elavamalai, Erode District), and Karthik Raja (from Thiruchengodu) are students of Andhiyur Akash Vishyalaya School.
- Sohail Ahmed, from Madurai P & T Nagar, scored a cut-off mark of 199.75 and secured the 1st place in the minority Muslim community. Isaipriya, a student from Athur, Salem, scored a cut-off mark of 199.25 and secured 1st place in the backward Arunthathiyar group. Dhanasekhar, a student from Kollimamalai, scored a cut-off mark of197.50 and secured the 1st place in the Ancient Tribes category.
- In the technical Education category, Manoj from Karamadai, Coimbatore has secured the 1st place. Dineshkumar (from Sikkarasamplayam) and Rohinth Bose (from Dindigul) have secured the 3rd & 4th places in the merit-list.
- The detailed merit list has been released in Anna University website.
- Though there were 57990 giurl students had also applied for engineering courses out of the total of 150 lakh students, very few of them have come on the merit list.
