Posted on: 05/Jun/2015 3:05:15 PM
All the supplementary State Banks have refused the plan to merge with State Bank of India.

As a token protest, they are on 1-day strike today (Friday, 5th June).

The employees of State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Hyderabad, and State Bank of Travancore have gone on the token 1-day strike today.

They have made various demands including the filling up of vacancies in the bank and for their banks to continue to operate as a separate entity as at present.

However, the central government has planned to merge all supplementary state banks with the country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India.
