Counselling for 6000 persons through 104 service!

Posted on: 08/May/2015 2:26:06 PM
Following the announcement of the results of +2 examinations, over 6000 persons including the students (boys & girls) who had scored poor marks and their parents resorted to contacting ‘104’ service to receive counselling!

It is worth comparing this with last year when only 2300 persons resorted to receive counselling from ‘104’ service!

In order to prevent the students to take the extreme step of suicide following failure in +2 examinations, ‘104’ medical help service centre has been operating over the last 3 days! It is open for all 24 hours. A team of 25 expert government psychologists & psychiatrists offer counselling.

The counselling is done on the following theme:

Failing in examinations or scoring poor marks is not at all a serious issue. One should not take the extreme step of suicide for this reason. Life is hardly over after the +2 results! Hence, think of the life ahead and approach it with renewed energy & confidence.

It is gathered that a lot of students felt better after receiving this counselling and think of the future.

At the same time, there are also worrisome reports received regarding the attempted suicide for some students!
