TN State Government employees and teachers will get their salary only on 6th April

There are 15 Lakhs government employees, teachers and 7 Lakhs pensioners and family pensioners in Tamil Nadu. Their salary and pension will be credited in the bank every month on 30th or 31st. The Tamil Nadu treasury has announced that this month’s salary will not be credited on 31st March and it will be credited only on 6th April.
The reason for the delay is bank will be closed on on March 31 and April 1 due to annual closing. On April 2, along with government offices, they will remain shut because of Mahavir Jayanti, followed by Good Friday on April 3. On the following day, banks work for a couple of hours on Saturday to be followed by Sunday on April 5.
