10th Standard Public Examinations commence tomorrow!

10th Standards Public examinations are set start from Thursday, 19th March. The examinations end on 10th April. 10.72 Lakhs candidates are writing this examination from 11827 schools.
3298 examination centres have been arranged throughout Tamil Nadu.5.40 Lakhs students are boys. 5.32 Lakhs students are girls. Over 1 Lakh teachers are deployed in the examinations conducted.
Flying squads deploying over 5200 teachers have also been set up to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
Compared to last year, 33816 more students are writing 10th Standard examinations. 730000 students write the examinations in Tamil.There are 50429 private candidates.
Interestingly, 241 jail inmates are also writing these examinations.33 jail inmates from Palayamkottai Central Jail and 111 jail inmates from Puzhal Central Jail are writing the examinations.
+2 examinations are being conducted from 5th March. Now, 10th Standard exams for this year will also be conducted simultaneously. However, the time-table for these examinations are arranged such that +2 & 10th Standard examinations will not be conducted on the same day.
For subjects including English, Tamil, and other languages ruled answer-sheets of 22 pages will be distributed.
For subjects like Mathematics, Science, Social Science, etc, answer-sheets of 30 pages will be distributed.
The answer-sheet for Social Studies will contain 4 maps in the first 4 pages.
+2 examinations start from 10.00 AM. However, 10th Standard examinations for last year started 45 minutes earlier – by 9.15 AM. It was announced that the early start was in order that the students do not get affected by the severe summer.
This year also, 10th Standard examinations will start by 9.15 AM.
The first 10 minutes are allocated for carefully reading the question paper. The next 5 minutes are allotted for filling in the particulars in the answer sheets. Hence, the actual examination start will be at 9.30 AM till 12.00 Noon.
57344 students from 578 schools are writing 10th Standard examinations from Chennai.
19559 students from 291 schools from Puducherry are writing the examinations.
