Durai, 55 years of age, a fisherman of Karikattukuppam near Muttukadu, went missing in early October. The family had been searching for him suddenly on October 12 a body got washed ashore near their place in Muttukadu. Haridas , son of Durai , Rani Wife of Durai identified the body as that of Durai . The police also registered as a case of death due to drowning and allowed the family to perform final rites. After cremation of the body the family was in for pleasant surprise when saw Durai coming walking. The joy was short-lived as Durai has gone missing again.
