With this year’s North-east monsoon providing sufficient rains, there has been an increase in the growth of vegetables.

Generally, an average of 260 to 270 trucks delivers the vegetables. With the reported increase in growth, 320 trucks have been delivering vegetables over the last few days.

This excess quantity has led to a reduction in prices of vegetables.

The prices of drumstick which was extremely costly, has now come down to Rs. 120/- per kg from Rs. 150/- per kg.

The prices of other vegetables like tomato, onion, radish, and bitter gourd have also fallen.

However, in spite of the reduced prices, it is reported that sales have not picked up.

The main reason for this could be the rains over the last few days.

Further, the trend of having food in the hotels on the festive occasions of New year, etc has also picked up. The families will also be visiting tourist spots.
