Operation of ‘Buddha’, a Luxury Drive – Fizzled Out Due Lack of Manpower

Owing to the dearth of manpower in the arena of mechanical and electrical units, the operation of the ‘Buddha’ train from Chennai has fizzled out.
The Buddha train has been a desire of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), South Zone.
For the course of maintenance, the train has been shifted to Bangalore. Thus from now on, the exclusive tour package will be drive from Bangalore in its place of Chennai, said an IRCTC official.
The ‘Mahaparinirvana’ train, also termed as the ‘Buddha’ special train, was acted from the month of October to March. This train has been customized with fully air-conditioned so as to lodge foreigners and the toll will be in US dollars.
In the idle period from April to September, IRCTC officials planned for arranging a luxury train drive to several pilgrimage spots for Chennaiites. On Successful bid, the plan will be in drive for functioning nearly 6 to 7 exclusive tour packages.
During the first week of May, the first exclusive tour trip has been conducted by IRCTC to Shridi and nearly 259 pilgrims take part in it. On Thursday, a special package from Kasi-Nepal will be carried out from Bangalore.
