A Deep-Rooted Submarines of Indian Navy - Stirred to Mamallapuram Next Week

Most of the Indian Navy’s entrenched submarines which has been decommissioned in Visakhapatnam during December, 2010, will have been moving to the thirty acre land adjoining the beach close to the UNESCO-affirmed World Heritage spot in Mamallapuram in the upcoming week.

Vagli is stated as a Vela group submarine and is alike to the INS Kursura S20 which was decommissioned in Visakhapatnam.

Especially the submarine Vagli, which has been harbored in Chennai Port for above a year, departs Chennai Port and on Sunday night, it was spotted 200 meters from the Mamallapuram shore.

This measure of 200 meters has been endorsed by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) officials.

Submarine will soon be get swing to the shore involving advanced technology and ascend on the platform by Tradex Shipping Corporation, officials stated to the Express.

As the submarine is placed on the platform, then we will soon quote for a tender to converting it into a museum along with various amenities like as marine technology, food courts, audio-visual studio, souvenir shops, aquarium, the official said.

Work will be awaited till election gets over and after then initiative steps will be furnished in converting submarine into a museum within a period of six months.
