No TASMAC shops for three days

With the Lok Sabha elections quickly approaching, the Election Commission is likely to pass directions to declare dry days on April 22, 23 and 24 in Tamil Nadu
Sources said that the office of the CEO had recommended the closing down of TASMAC shops for three days and the EC is likely to issue the orders soon. The TASMAC employees union in its representation on March 17 said the sale of liquor would be at its peak on April 22 and law and order problems could crop up. Employees union president Periyasamy said the police would not be able to come to help TASMAC employees on that day as they would be busy with the security bandobust.
