Metro rail ready to take off during the month of April
The Metro Rail, built at a cost of Rs. 14,000 crore, was launched in 2009. According to the original schedule, services were to begin in October 2014 between Koyambedu and Alandur, but the deadline was later extended to March 2015.

CMRL lays tracks in tunnel area of Egmore- Shenoy Nagar
The tunnel-boring machine between Shenoy Nagar and Egmore broke even. Now tracks are being laid.

Foot over-bridge to get replaced by escalator soon
Further to several criticism and complaints about the unfriendly over-bridge connecting Moore market and park railway station, CMRL is now all set to install escalator, easing its use.

New Metro rail Project on 3 new routes!
With the current Metro Rail Project nearing completion, The CMRL has now invited tenders for preparing draft plans for 3 new metro train routes.
