Posted on: 27/Mar/2021 11:50:27 AM
Gaining weight during pregnancy is natural and inevitable! However, there are incidents where this weight-gain during pregnancy may lead to complaints such as diabetes in some women!

It is an imperative and most important task for the pregnant mother to keep good health of herself as well as the growing child inside!

Here are certain guidelines to follow to restrict weight gain during pregnancy:

·        As soon as getting up from the bed, drink a glass of lukewarm water – no hot or cold water, please!

·        Take an easily digestible item like idly for the breakfast – around 8.00 AM. After breakfast ensures to drink sufficient water! Avoid coffee or tea, please!

·        10.30-11.00AM: Take the nutrition powder recommended by the doctor! Then, have a steady and relaxed walking exercise within the house. You can take vegetable or fruit salads!

·        Ensure to take your lunch before 2.00 PM! Half-an-hour after lunch, sleep for half-an-hour! This would enhance the blood-circulation of the growing fetus.

·        Evenings: Take some apple or boiled chickpeas.

·        Dinner: Finish your dinner between 7.00-7.30 PM! If you feel hungry after some time, take some fruits such as a banana!

·        REMEMBER – NO SUGAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! It is better to take the fruits directly by chewing them. Why? When taken in the juice form, it will increase the sugar content in the blood rather rapidly! Those who are unable to chew and eat the fruits can take them in juice form BUT WITHOUT SUGAR PLEASE!

·        Ensure you undertake walking exercise daily and regularly inside the residence at least for 30 minutes! Also, ensure that you take only healthy, home-made food!

·        The main reason for diabetes during pregnancy is weight gain/loss!  So, instead of lazing around doing nothing, please do some small-chore activities! Ensure that you remain brisk & busy!

Following the above guidelines will certainly ensure the weight-gain during pregnancy to be balanced, uniform and healthy! This will also reduce the prospects of getting affected by diabetes during pregnancy!
