Foods that could help us in treating or preventing chikungunya in us

It is known that chikungunya virus or CHIKV is responsible for the chikungunya infection in us. This infection mostly occurs during the monsoon season. The persons with this infection have symptoms like fever and pain in the joints. There are also other symptoms like headache, joint swelling, rashes etc. It is said that the risk of death due to chikungunya is 1 in 1000.This chikungunya could affect young, old and also those who have other health issues in them. One important point is the above symptoms appear after 3 to 7 days after bitten by mosquitoes. There are few foods that could be consumed so that the chikungunya could be avoided in us.

These foods could treat or prevent chikungunya in us.

Leafy vegetables intake:

These green leafy veggies have fewer calories plus they are digested easily is known. These must be consumed by us as it could prevent us from getting chikungunya. In addition to this our overall health would be superb by the intake of leafy vegetables.

Apples and plantains intake:

While recovering from chikungunya it is important that we must avoid citrus fruits like oranges etc and intake of fruits like apples and plantains are superb. The presence of fibres in apples makes it amazing as it cleanses our digestive system plus it also ensures low cholesterol levels in us. Rich in fibres, the plantains prevent constipation in us and our intestines are kept clean.

Foods rich in vitamins C, E intake:

It is known that intake of vitamin C plays a huge role in formation of muscles, bones and blood vessels etc. Good health, flawless skin etc could be got by vitamin E. The risk of getting chikungunya could be reduced by adequate intake of both these vitamins. Foods like guavas, kiwis, broccoli, tomatoes, peas etc has got both vitamin C and E and these foods must be consumed without fail.

Liquid based foods intake:

Liquid based foods like soups, dal, gravies etc could be wonderful for those who are recovering from chikungunya. The much needed protein could be got by intake of soups made of beans, lean meat, fish etc.

Omega-3 fatty acids intake:

Omega-3 fatty acids are very important for us as they help us to fight depression, for improving our eye health, brain health etc.  It is brought out that to recover from chikungunya foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids must be taken. Few examples of foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids are roasted soybeans, walnuts, salmon etc.
